Worked example

Worked examples are step-by-step expert explanations of how to solve a problem. It can be used to guide players through the solution process. In the worked example version players start in the first level of each subgame with full support (procedural as well as declarative knowledge) that is gradually faded in the subsequent levels. The worked examples were used as a way to promote self explanations. By fading the worked examples, the players are enabled to extend their self-explanations as they progressed.
