SIKS-ICS Masterclass on Norms and Institutions

On June 5th 2007 a Masterclass on Norms and Institions will be organized at Utrecht University by the Dutch Research School for Information and Knowledge Systems (SIKS) and the local Institute for Information and Computing Sciences (ICS). It follows the public defense of the SIKS-phd-thesis "Autonomy vs. Conformity: an Institutional Perspective on Norms and Protocols" by Huib Aldewereld on June 4th 2007, also at Utrecht University. The masterclass is part of the Advanced Components Stage of SIKS' educational program. Therefore, SIKS-phd-students are strongly encouraged to participate.

The provisionary program looks as follows:
10.30 - 11.15: Talk by Julian Padget on Formal Aspects of Institutions
11.15 - 12.00: Talk by Carles Sierra on Practical Implementations (ISLANDER)
12.00 - 13.00: Lunch
13.00 - 13.45: Talk by Javier Vazquez-Salceda on Linking Norms to Implementations (Carrel)
13.45 - 14.30: Talk by Huib Aldewereld on Protocols for Institutions

Participation (lunch included) is free for all SIKS-members. If you want to participate, please send an e-mail to office@siks.nl and inform Mrs. Corine Jolles whether you want to take part in the lunch and whether there are dietary needs that should be taken into account.
