SIKS Masterclass on Smart Auditing

On March 21 2012, the School for Information and Knowledge Systems (SIKS) will organize a Masterclass on Smart Auditing. The event takes one day, will be given in English and is part of the so called Advanced Components Stage of the Educational Program for SIKS-PhD-students. Although these actitivies are primarily intended for SIKS-PhD-students, other participants are not excluded. However, their number of passes will be restricted and depends on the number of students taking the course. The course is given by experienced lecturers actively involved in the research areas related to the topics of the masterclass.

In order to ensure that business processes behave according to regulations and performance constraints, it is necessary for the auditor to monitor them. How this monitoring is done effectively and efficiently changes over time as it depends heavily on the technological environment in which the business processes are executed (e.g. Cloud) and the tools available to the auditor. Important examples of technological developments that have an impact on the auditing are service-orientation, web computing, process mining, ubiquitous computing and XBRL. An efficient and effective management of auditing processes is becoming a strategic issue within companies and across the supply chain. In this SIKS Master Class, that brings together IT researchers and auditors, the latest developments in this area are presented and discussed.
