Music

Traditionally the summer school has several musical events. This year we had two, both after dinner: one on Saturday the 13th and the other on Friday the 19th. Lyrics and more can be found here.

Videos

Some participants were not only truly artistic photographers, but also made a few nice videos. You can check them here.

Food

Italy is known for its great food. Go to this page for an overview of the Schnastal valley cuisine.

Musical events

We had two evenings that will definitely stay in our memories. Not only because of the great fun we had during dinner and afterwards, but also because both evenings involved quite a number of performances by teachers and students. First of all, on Saturday the 13th Andrew opened the musical events with some characteristic folk songs. After Andrews stunning performance, Hans and Jakob took the "stage" for some nice dancing tunes (unfortunately without real dancers). Next, it was time for some creative students, with Irina performing some very nice Russian songs (guitar and singing) and Anne played a few beautiful songs on piano from the movie Amelie. No lyrics are available for this evening, but luckily we still have some photos.

On Friday the 19th we had our last dinner in the Goldenen Roze. Of course we could not leave Karthaus without saying goodbye properly. So after we finished the main course, Damien started the speeches for thanking the entire staff of the summer school. Next, it was Hans his turn to thank the hotel crew for another wonderful and excellent stay in Karthaus. After finishing the final dessert it was again time for some performances. As it should be, Andrew started again with some very nice Karthaus songs:
- The Karthaus song
- The Schnalstal blues
- Song for Ingrid

The first song was performed together with Irina and the last one was even a brand new one! Also some students had prepared a completely new song (on the music of Hey ya by Outkast):
- Students Karthaus song
Again it was an evening to remember and a good ending to a great summer school.
